Great Atlantic Pacific Tea Company is an organization founded on the values of hard work and authentic leadership. GAPTC is committed to providing its employees with a family-like culture. They have a long history of hiring from within – the CEO famously started out as a cashier. Knowing the importance of culture in recruitment and retention, GAPTC chose to launch an Employee Engagement Program called WECARE. The program was designed to reinforce their “people-first” mantra and spotlight its unique peer-to-peer approach to management — people training people and people managing people. The WECARE program highlighted how its employees are all better together and how when “we” work as a team, “we” all win. GAPTC’s WECARE Employee Engagement Program was deemed a great success internally. Employee feedback indicated that the program contributed to a more positive work environment and incentivized more employees to want to grow within the company. We supported the program by developing all of the integrated marketing materials including event programs, collateral, signage and more.
